JUVEDERM VOLLURE AUSTIN

Juvederm Vollure in Austin is a hyaluronic acid facial filler, specifically designed for the nasolabial folds, lips and for the parenthesis around the mouth. This is the longest lasting dermal filler on the market for the mid-face, lasting up to 15 months. Before Vollure, Juvederm was used to treat these mid-face areas, but Vollure uses what is called Vycross Technology, allowing the injector to contour the injected area and provide longer lasting results. At Beaux our approach is a naturally refreshed look (never over-done) so everyone will notice, no one will know.

WHAT IS JUVEDERM VOLLURE?

JUVÉDERM Vollure Austin has a small amount of lidocaine mixed in for an anesthetic effect, improving the comfort of the injection. JUVÉDERM Vollure XC is a colorless hyaluronic acid gel which is a naturally occurring sugar found in the body. The role of hyaluronic acid in the skin is to deliver nutrients, hydrate the skin by holding in water, and to act as a cushioning agent.

ARE YOU A CANDIDATE FOR JUVEDERM VOLLURE?

Nearly all adults are great candidates for filler injections. You may not be a good candidate if you have:

  • Severe allergies with a history of anaphylaxis
  • Presence of multiple severe allergies
  • History of allergies to lidocaine or Gram-positive bacterial proteins

WHERE CAN VOLLURE BE USED?

The product is most often used in facial tissues to smooth folds and wrinkles. The most common areas are the parentheses lines near the mouth and nose (or the nasolabial folds). This filler may also be used in other areas of the face, such as perioral lines, lips, chin, jaw line and temples (off-label, but your provider will assess your needs and goals to recommend the best product and placement for you. Using filler ‘off-label’ is a common practice and not a reason for concern.

IS A VOLLURE TREATMENT PAINFUL?

Everyone asks this!
Although you might experience some discomfort during and after the injection treatment, it is rare due to the combined use of topical cream anesthetic and the anesthetic which is mixed into the filler to reduce injection site pain. Most experience minimal discomfort.

During the treatment, you can expect to a feeling of pressure, not pain, as the gel is injected. It may feel “heavy” in the injected area. You may also hear sounds as the needle passes through the various facial tissues. Sometimes those sounds are like popping and/or crunching. This is normal. If at any time during the treatment you feel you need a break or feel lightheaded tell your provider.

HOW LONG IS A VOLLURE APPOINTMENT?

The treatment itself is brief. Depending upon the areas to be addressed and the number of syringes of product used, the actual injections may take from 15 minutes to 1 hour.

HOW LONG DOES JUVEDERM VOLLURE LAST?

Correction is temporary but long lasting. The results are immediate. The product is naturally broken down and absorbed by the body over time. Touch-up injections and repeat injections are usually needed to maintain optimal correction. The good news is with regular touch-ups, less material (about half the amount) is usually needed for repeat injections. A full syringe to lips will last about 6-8mo. A full syringe in other areas could be 12-15.

HOW MANY VOLLURE TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

Only one treatment is required to achieve optimal results but remember, correction is temporary. The product will naturally break down and be absorbed by the body over time. Touch-up injections as well as repeat injections are usually needed to maintain the effects. When you have repeat injections, usually less material (about half the amount) is needed.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER A VOLLURE TREATMENT

Do not exercise strenuously, or have extensive sun or heat exposure (like hot tubs or saunas), and drink alcoholic beverages for 24 hours. This helps to prevent temporary redness, swelling, and/or itching of the injection sites. Your provider may advise you to place an ice pack over any swollen areas. Ask your provider when makeup may be used after your treatment.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What other Juvederm Cosmetic Fillers are there?

Some of the most common Juvederm family of fillers are Vollure, Voluma, Volbella and Juvederm Ultra Plus.

How much filler will I need?

Recommended amounts of filler vary depending on client personal aesthetic goals, volume loss, skin thickness, and more unique defining factors. Clients with more volume and collagen loss will need more filler to attain desirable results. Clients with thicker skin might be recommended more filler, or a different type of filler that will provide their skin with more support and lift. Certain clients want a natural look, therefore they might be recommended less filler, whereas clients that want dramatic changes will be recommended more filler. There is a delicate balance between type of filler, amount of filler, and clients needs that will need to be addressed by our professional and knowledgeable staff here at Beaux before proceeding with your injectable treatment.

Will I look overdone?

Due to the fact that Vollure’s main ingredient, HA, is a naturally occurring substance in our bodies, the results of using this material for cosmetic purposes is actually quite natural. The HA will simply provide support in place of lost volume, collagen, and fat, which allows for a youthful and natural result. Further, the soft nature of the gel filler is made to mimic the suppleness of youthful skin (which is why particular fillers with particular thicknesses will be recommended for different areas of concern). People can of course achieve a more dramatic look by request, but a natural look is absolutely within reach.

Do Juvederm Vollure Austin treatments hurt?

The second main ingredient present in Vollure is 0.3% of the anesthetic lidocaine, which serves to make the injection experience smoother and more comfortable. Of course, perception of pain is a unique experience for everyone, but most clients will only feel a mild discomfort due to the combined numbing of the topical and injectable anesthetic that accompanies the procedure. Areas with thinner skin, such as around the mouth, will be slightly more sensitive as well. Further, the cooling effect from the ice that will be applied to the area following injections helps reduce any pain at injections sites.

Can this filler be dissolved?

Not to fear, there is absolutely a method for dissolving HA filler via injection of the enzyme hyaluronidase. This enzyme is another naturally-occurring substance found in the body (therefore it is safe and effective) that is able to degrade hyaluronic acid (HA) by catalyzing the bodys ability to absorb the material. This option is available per client desire, such as for clients that might be unhappy with their injectable filler injection, and per client need, such as clients that have an adverse reaction to the filler or those that have filler injected in a blood vessel. If HA filler is inadvertently injected in a blood vessel, it can cause negative side effects such as skin ulceration, breakdown, and necrosis, but thankfully hyaluronidase can reverse these effects. It is recommended to get this antidote by the provider that did the injection.
